Corrosion and degradation of magnesium (Mg) alloy result in serious damage limit its application new-energy automobile industry. Considerable protective coating is proposed, yet it hindered by the difficulties avoiding visually monitoring micro-damage localized metal corrosion. Herein, a novel anticorrosion system with autonomously multiple levels damages coated Mg-alloy system, proposed. In this design, top layer consists polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) microcapsules containing crystal violet lactone (CVL) polyurethane resin dispersed SiO

ABSTRACT Polyacrylate was widely used in textiles, leather, and functional coatings due to its excellent film formation flexibility. However, durability compromised by mechanical damage poor water resistance. This study aimed design a UV‐induced self‐healing polyacrylate coating (PXD) using vinyl‐modified coumarin acrylate monomers based on photoreversible covalent hydrophobic interactions. The effect of the structure properties systematically examined. Results showed that increasing polymer chain flexibility, extending distance between structures main chain, raising healing temperature enhanced efficiency. PXD samples achieved over 84% efficiency after 8 h 365 nm UV irradiation at 60°C, with scratches approximately 15 μm wide nearly fully healed within 2 h. Molecular dynamics simulations confirmed influence monomer mechanism clarified. PXD‐5 also exhibited improved hydrophobicity resistance, particularly under light, significantly enhancing leather durability. development represents significant advancement materials.
