ABSTRACT Alzheimer's disease (AD) is one of the most prevalent forms neurodegenerative disease. Although some controversy exists, β‐amyloid peptide (Aβ) recognized to play an essential role in pathophysiology AD. The Aβ species are known exist various forms, including soluble monomers, oligomers, and insoluble aggregates. Despite extensive efforts regulate aggregation, no successful medications have been developed date. Among strategies for AD treatment, phototherapy, photodynamic therapy (PDT), photothermal (PTT), photopharmacology, photobiomodulation (PBM) attracted increased attention because spatiotemporal controllability. Representative examples PDT, PTT, PBM discussed terms inhibitory mechanism, unique properties materials, design phototherapy modulators. major challenges against addressed promising prospects proposed. It concluded that noninvasive light‐assisted approaches will become a strategy intensifying modulation aggregation or promoting clearance thus facilitating treatment.
