Solar-driven interfacial evaporation (SDIE) is a desalination technology based on interface heating and evaporation, which provides potential strategy for developing green, environmentally protective, economically efficient desalination. By now, the performances of solar-driven systems have been significantly improved due to developments photothermal materials evaporator structures. Herein, up-to-date approaches results are summarized elaborated mechanism conversion achieved by materials. The principle enhancing performance SDIE has systematically studied, existing feasible salt-resistant strategies long-term summarized. Finally, current challenges outlooks discussed, providing possible path development this technology.
