Abstract Semi‐transparent perovskite solar cells (ST‐PSCs) have gained attention among the photovoltaics community due to their superior transparency and power conversion efficiency (PCE), making them suitable for building integrated (BIPV) applications. However, ST‐PSCs suffer from challenge of balancing between light transmittance. In order overcome this challenge, several ongoing research focuses on band gap engineering, high performing semi‐transparent charge transport layers (CTLs), micro structured islands, highly conductive transparent/semi‐transparent electrodes. This critical review provides a brief overview recent developments in ST‐PSCs, including advancements photo absorber layers, CTLs, transparent Furthermore, detailed roadmap is provided effective implementation BIPV sector.

Tin–lead metal halide perovskites show promise as light-absorbing materials with a tunable band gap (1.2–1.4 eV) for efficient perovskite solar cells (PSCs) less toxicity. However, the instability of tin(II) ionic state limits lifetime their PSCs, which reduces real-world feasibility. Herein, indium(III) iodide (InI3) is used to modulate Sn–Pb crystal lattice improve stability film, in addition improving photovoltaic performance corresponding PSC devices. It found that indium cation shows an ability substitute vacancies structure, resulting more stable structure. The InI3-modified films exhibit enhanced surface morphology and crystallinity, reduced trap density, nonradiative recombination expressed improved device Sn–Pb-based PSCs from 17.2 18.1% enhancement during exposure elevated temperature humid atmospheric air.
