Carbon fiber (CF) has been widely used in aerospace, military, infrastructure, sports, and leisure fields owing to its excellent mechanical properties, superior corrosion friction resistances, thermal stability, lightweight. However, the ultrablack appearance derived from extremely strong absorption of light throughout entire visible region makes it difficult satisfy aesthetic pleasurable demands colorful world limits their applications a broader field. Herein, inspired by Japanese jewel beetle, double-layer ultrathin Al2O3/TiO2 composite structure was fabricated on CFs atomic layer deposition method. exhibited desired color diversity controlling thickness Al2O3 TiO2 films without changing total film's structure. Meanwhile, colored have no change/destruction after series environmental durability measurements remarkable superdurability flame retardancy. Our work provides insights for innovative, high-performance, multifunctional CF that can help achieve high quality sustainable development industry.
