Abstract Determining the appropriate formulation in designing and developing brake friction materials is one of most complex tasks. This study investigates synergistic effect optimization twaron fiber on fade recovery performance composites. For this purpose, a series containing varying amounts between 1 9 wt% were developed, their characterization tribo evaluation carried out. The composites was evaluated Krauss‐type test machine line with ECE R90 procedure terms behaviors. It noted that fade‐recovery response affected when added; is, an increase content improved performance, fluctuations decreased, higher observed. average coefficient found to be main determinants, while stabilizer. Analytical hierarchy process (AHP) used determine priority importance criteria evaluation, VIKOR (multi‐criteria compromise solution) for ranking evaluation. concentration 7 have exhibited optimal braking performance. worn surfaces scanning electron microscope (SEM) confirms general wear mechanisms layers content. Highlights Development pulp‐reinforced eco‐friendly Use MCDM approach development BFCs applications. positioned twaron‐addition BFC as choice. observed amount effective behaviors
