Abstract
Zoos
and
aquaria
are
paying
increasing
attention
to
environmental
enrichment,
which
has
proven
an
effective
tool
for
the
improvement
of
animal
welfare.
However,
several
ongoing
issues
have
hampered
progress
in
enrichment
research.
Foremost
among
these
is
taxonomic
bias,
hinders
our
understanding
