The tea plant is a vital strategic forest resource in China. Dark produced from its leaves an indispensable health-promoting product western China due to unique lipid-lowering function. Eurotium cristatum the dominant strain Fuzhuan brick (a variety of Anhua dark tea) and could produce many functional components, including lovastatin, compound. In this study, lovastatin yield was improved by breeding using protoplast fusion method. experiments were carried out inducing between inactivated JH1205 Monascus CICC5031. Among 92 fusants screened HPLC method, four strains (A4, A36, A54, A76) with higher production (more than three times as high) obtained. A76 had highest yield, which 23.93 μg/mL. location strongly influenced loose tea. bred study more when compared wild cristatum. These results are promising for development resources.
