Purpose This study aims to address the macroeconomic factors effect on travel and leisure (T&L) industry throughout Europe within context of Russo-Ukrainian war that have started 24 February 2022. Specifically, top tourist destinations are analysed, such as Spain, France, Italy Portugal, well in general. Design/methodology/approach adopts panel regression approach based data is provided a daily basis, it covers period nearly 14 months, starting 2022 ending 15 April 2023. Findings The findings indicate European T&L sector impacted by variables. Namely, significantly interest rates, geopolitical risk, oil gas, whereas inflation has muted effect, indicating comparatively lesser influence dynamics industry. research contributes existing literature providing one first quantitative analyses how impact business conflict. Research limitations/implications A Russian–Ukrainian may be limited number constraints. continuing nature conflict, lack communication between parties potential political prejudice some these difficulties. This study investigates the impact, recovery and resilience of COVID-19 on South Africa's Limpopo Province's tourism industry. The utilises surveys (n = 115) interviews 50) to examine recovery, resilience, success challenges various tourism-related businesses, including national parks, restaurants, hotels. Despite minimal government support significant like erratic utilities, high inflation, a global economic downturn, sector showed with few business failures. While some businesses in accommodation diversified into areas student accommodation, survived by cutting number staff, tapping savings, borrowing adopting cost containment measures survive pandemic. Post pandemic, faces issues decreased demand due technological changes meetings conferences employee mental health concerns. underscores need for strategic management specific policy interventions ensure sector's survival post-pandemic.
