Agricultural production has long been a cornerstone of livelihoods in rural areas, providing essential resources and economic stability to communities worldwide. In recent years, there growing interest the role agriculture as sustainable livelihood strategy for youth these regions, especially Africa, where make up most population. This paper explores impact agricultural projects under Comprehensive Rural Development Programme (CRDP) on improving empowering Qwaqwa (Phuthaditjhaba), Free State. It investigates programme’s skills development, access resources, entrepreneurial opportunities, well identifying opportunities challenges face within context CRDP. followed case study design with qualitative approach describe, compare, evaluate, identify patterns or cause-and-effect relationships between various variables. Findings indicate that CRDP-trained youths use their household purposes, some become job creators. However, is also evidence trainees need additional support increase market participation. The recommends peri-urban areas require further interventions from governmental non-governmental agencies strategies increased creation, which will, turn, improve meet SDGs.
