Abstract Objectives There is no guidance to support the reporting of systematic reviews mobile health (mhealth) apps (app reviews), so authors attempt use/modify Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA). a need guidance, building on PRISMA where appropriate, tailored app reviews. The objectives were describe quality published mHealth reviews, identify for, develop potential candidate items guideline. Materials Methods A scoping review following Joanna Briggs Institute Arksey O’Malley approaches. App identified in January 2024 from SCOPUS, CINAHL, AMED, EMBASE, Medline, PsycINFO, ACM Digital Library, snowballing reference lists, forward citation searches. Data extracted into Excel analyzed using descriptive statistics content synthesis, as framework. Results One hundred seventy-one identified, 2013 2024. Protocols developed 11% only 52% reported geographical location markets. Few duplicate removal process (12%), device operating system used (30%), or made clear recommendations best-rated (18%). Nineteen not by most (>85%) 4 modified >30% Involvement patient/public contributors (4%) other stakeholders (11%) was infrequent. Overall, 34 10 subitems be considered new Discussion Conclusion inconsistently reported, many deemed relevant. Consensus work needed revise prioritize guideline
