Methods: A cross-sectional national survey was conducted February 2022, targeting healthcare workers Italy. survey, distributed via Italian Society Urgent Medicine (SIMEUP) mailing list, collected data measures, including availability hand hygiene stations, personal protective equipment, disinfection protocols, use rapid diagnostic tests. Results: total 80 questionnaires were completed from 119 (67.2%) different ERs. majority respondents Northern Italy (47.5%) worked hospitals with 24 h pediatric assistance (48.8%). Less than half non-pediatric had separate access children, potentially exposing them adult pathogens. Across all settings, basic such as providing masks gel, widely implemented. However, significant observed social distancing, informational materials, dedicated pathways, I level less likely have these resources. Rapid tests most but focus predominantly SARS-CoV-2, despite other respiratory pathogens' relevance care. Conclusions: Strengthening preparations future pandemics will be crucial enhancing resilience systems ensuring safety both patients face emerging threats.
