The growing demand for edible oils food and fuel has increased interest in non- like waste cooking (WCOs) biodiesel production. However, faces challenges, such as low oxidative stability poor cold flow properties. These properties are influenced by the composition of fatty acid methyl esters (FAMEs), particularly their degree unsaturation. While compression ignition (CI) engines can accommodate up to 30% blends with diesel without modification, higher content requires engine upgrades. This study explores upgrading WCO sample via partial hydrogenation its polyunsaturated FAMEs catalyzed in-situ synthesized water-soluble Ru/TPPTS. methodology includes EN ISO standard methods gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) analysis characterization before after upgrading. results demonstrate that Ru/TPPTS catalytic system effectively altered biodiesel. Specifically, significantly reduced percentage unsaturated linoleic (C18:2) ester while concurrently increasing saturated stearic (C18:0) ester. compositional change led an increase hydrogenated sample. Nevertheless, further research is needed meet limit outlined standard.

Abstract Waste cooking oils are commonly utilized as feedstock in biodiesel synthesis. However, there has been limited research on the perspective of using waste olive oil for production. This study explores potential household frying a production andcomparing it with sunflower oil. The samples were evaluated according to European standard specifications and test methods EN 14214. water content oxidation stability did not meet required criteria. To address this, Rancimat method was used investigate essential plant extracts antioxidants. Oregano rosemary significantly improved both biodiesel. analysis fatty acid profile through gas chromatography–mass spectrometry proved be critical determinant properties. Moreover, use ultrasound‐assisted synthesis enhanced yield findings have indicated that is sustainable option produce high‐yield noteworthy antioxidant when natural antioxidants incorporated into mixture.

The current energy scenario requires the use of alternatives for petrol-based products. In this context, role biodiesel and biolubricants can be promising, offering multiple advantages but also some challenges like their low oxidation stability. antioxidants offset disadvantage, improving general performance these products during storage or usage. aim work was to assess combined separate two different (propyl gallate, PG, tert-butylhydroquinone, TBHQ) on biolubricant based waste cooking oil (WCO), carrying out a thorough characterization quantification through voltammetry techniques. Thus, innovation consists in its simultaneous quality assessment quantification. As result, did not offer synergistic effect, PG at concentrations (300 ppm) is recommended case WCO biolubricant. Voltammetry suitable fast method quantify both TBHQ.
