Abstract Background Delineation of Parkinson’s disease (PD) from multiple system atrophy (MSA) can be challenging, especially in early stages, and clinical markers are needed for detection MSA. Speech characteristics have been studied as digital biomarkers PD ataxias, but there is only little data on Objectives To determine whether speech serve a biomarker to differentiate between MSA PD. Methods 21 patients 23 underwent battery task assessments: text reading, sustained phonation diadochokinetic tasks. were extracted using the software Praat. Results described by factors: “time pauses”, “harsh voice”, factor containing “mixed characteristics”. After correcting MDS-UPDRS III, four parameters pause” showed significant differences could delineated with Receiver Operator Characteristic Area Under Curve (ROC-AUC) 0.89 single parameter together III. Conclusion differentiated good accuracy III one predictors. This outlines importance assessments delineate allow differential diagnosis movement disorders.
