Uropathogenic Escherichia coli (UPEC) is responsible for 80–90% of urinary tract infections (UTI) in the global population. The emergence increasing resistance to broad-spectrum antimicrobial agents was due ability form biofilms. Cell surface factors that play a role biofilm formation include Quorum Sensing (QS) which encoded by luxS family gene and curli two operons, namely csgBA operon. purpose study detect effects 2 virulence genes (csgD luxS) on biofilm-forming UPEC associated with UTI. As many as 76 isolates were collected from clinical microbiology laboratories development analyzed using crystal violet method microplate 96 wells. Using PCR assay, studied determined be present isolates. bacteria-produced biofilms (90.80%) nonproducers (9.20%). Most bacteria (97.36%) are known positive csgD gene, while others (92.10%) gene. highest proportion expressed this followed presence relationship between produce under investigation, all strains cause UTI humans.
