Abstract Indoor air pollution is a recognized emerging threat, claiming millions of lives annually. People are constantly exposed to ambient and indoor pollution. The latest research shows that people in developed countries spend up 90% their time indoors almost 70% at home. Although impaired IAQ represents significant health risk, it affects differently, specific populations more vulnerable: children, the elderly, with respiratory illnesses sensitive these environmental risks. Despite rather extensive on IAQ, most current understanding about subject, which includes sources, indoor–outdoor relationships, ventilation/filtration, still quite limited, mainly because quality monitoring EU primarily focused regulatory requirements lacking for environments. Therefore, EDIAQI project aims improve guidelines awareness advancing Europe beyond by allowing user‐friendly access information exposures, related risk factors. solution proposed consists conducting characterization sources routes exposure dispersion chemical, biological, multiple cities EU. will deploy cost‐effective/user‐friendly solutions create new knowledge routes, multipollutant body burdens. brings together 18 organizations from 11 different European provide interdisciplinary skills expertise various fields, including science technology, medicine, toxicology, as well policy design public engagement.
