Abstract The middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River serve as principal rice production bases in China, yet biodiversity ecological processes bacterial communities paddy soils are not well understood. This study explores diversity, composition, function, assembly abundant rare soils. A total 129 soil samples from 43 sites along were collected analyzed using NovaSeq sequencing. results showed that dominant phylum for both taxa was Proteobacteria, with a greater relative abundance taxa. diversity community than community. Soil properties geographic variables explained more variation exhibited significant distance‐decay relationship. influenced by stochastic processes, although governed processes. It is concluded exhibit differing biogeographic patterns, they undergo similar River. These observations offer theoretical framework deeper comprehension function bacteria, development preservation within agricultural ecosystems.

Although vinegar is a product obtained by well-known bioprocess from technical point of view, the complex microbiota responsible for its production and their involvement in organoleptic profiles are not clear yet. In this work, three acetification submerged culture using both synthetic raw materials Andalusia (Spain) were characterized metagenomic (16S rRNA amplicon sequencing) metabolomic tools (stir-bar sorptive extraction with thermo-desorption coupled to gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (SBSE-TD-GC-MS) high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)). A total 29 phyla, 208 families, many more genera identified, comprising bacteria archaea as well 75 metabolites, including minor volatile compounds, amino acids, biogenic amines, other nitrogenous compounds. Simultaneously quantifying soil N2O emissions contributed by different microbial groups and revealing the underlying mechanisms have long been challenging but fundamental to understanding terrestrial nitrogen cycling. Here, a novel inhibitory cocktail approach based on use octyne, acetylene, antibiotics combinations was developed explore microbially sourced in mountain forest ecosystems. Our results indicated that nitrification process pathway leading major emissions, with ammonia-oxidizing bacteria (AOB) playing greater role than archaea (AOA) soils pH > 4.5, while AOA more only extremely acidic soils. Soil identified as key factor regulated AOB abundances their relative contributions. However, when increased above 5.5, it not abundance higher intrinsic emission capability (INP) for could explain its dominant role. Moreover, there an opposite pattern relationship between pH- from AOB, indicating potential assessing emissions. Notably, we found, first time, denitrification played nonnegligible roles ecosystem, during this process, denitrifying fungi were powerful bacteria. This difference may be attributed distinct enzymatic activities metabolic pathways involved generation consumption Overall, study sheds new light of mediated

Dewatered sludge, an organic solid waste (OSW), is recognized as a potential source for antimicrobial resistance (AMR) dissemination. Anaerobic composting enhanced by bioelectrochemical systems (BESs) might be emerging effective method the treatment of OSW. However, behavior antibiotic genes (ARGs) during OSW in BESs still poorly unknown. Using dewatered sludge with corn straw or kitchen anodic substrates, we investigated power generation performance, substrate characteristics, ARGs dynamics, microbial community shifts, and effects characteristics on dynamics anaerobic co-composting. Results indicated that mixed substrates showed better electrical concentrations soluble polysaccharides proteins increased, pH remained appropriate throughout operation period. A slight variation 2.44% to 3.08% were observed total relative abundance among different composted samples over 90 days, which was accordance hosts at genus level. The dominant ARG subtypes decreased revealed metagenomic sequencing. Network analysis identified 25 major categories 44 genera viable totally substrates. Redundancy (RDA) succession primary factor contributing ARGs. Overall, Co-composting altered composition affecting reduced risk lowering host microbe abundance. This study suggests new control strategy about co-composting using BESs.
