Fusarium graminearum is one of the causal agents head blight and produces trichothecene mycotoxin, deoxynivalenol (DON). Thioredoxin reductases (TRRs) play critical roles in recycling oxidized thioredoxin. However, their functions are not well known plant pathogenic fungi. In this study, we characterized a TRR orthologue FgTRR F. graminearum. The FgTRR-GFP fusion protein localized to cytoplasm. gene deletion demonstrated that involved hyphal growth, conidiation, sexual reproduction, DON production, virulence. ΔTRR mutants also exhibited defect pigmentation, expression level aurofusarin biosynthesis-related genes was significantly decreased mutant. Furthermore, were more sensitive oxidative stress aggravated apoptosis-like cell death compared with wild type strain. Taken together, these results indicate important development pathogenicity

Mycobacteria are associated with a number of well-characterized diseases, yet we know little about their stress biology in natural ecosystems. This study focuses on the isolation and characterization strains from Yellowstone National Park (YNP) Glacier (GNP; USA), majority those identified were Mycobacterium parascrofulaceum, avium or gordonae (GNP). Generally, windows for growth spanned temperature range > 60 °C; selected isolates grew at super-saturated concentrations hydrophobic stressors levels osmotic chaotropic activity (up to 13.4 kJ kg(-1) ) similar to, exceeding, xerophilic fungus Aspergillus wentii solvent-tolerant bacterium Pseudomonas putida. For example, mycobacteria down 0.800 water indicating that they are, sole exception halophiles, more xerotolerant than other bacteria (or any Archaea). Furthermore, fatty-acid composition cells grown over salt changed less bacteria, high level resilience, regardless load. Cells M. smegmatis resisted acute, potentially lethal challenges extremes pH (< 1; 13), saturated MgCl2 solutions (5 M; 212 chaotropicity). Abstract Keratin is important and needed for the growth of dermatophytes in host tissue.
