Salinity and cadmium exposure to agrarian land lowers crop yield imposes toxicity in the food chain, ultimately affecting sustainable agriculture. Melatonin (Mel) calcium (Ca) have been reported as potent regulators of plant growth stress resistance. Based on this scenario, study investigated sole combined effects Mel Ca improving antioxidant properties, mineral content, germination sprout, tolerance soybean seedlings under salt (Cd) stress. Optimal doses 20 µM 1 mM were identified enhance sprout quality seed germination. Treatments with > inhibited germination, while combination (20 µM) (1 mM) significantly improved content (Ca, P, K), including DPPH(2,2-Diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) activity, polyphenols, flavonoids, superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity. However, melatonin 50 could completely cease sprouting, whereas a concentration up 10 was observed be normal sprouting. Additionally, reduced malondialdehyde (MDA) levels enhanced proline, indicating decreased oxidative conditions. Among various treatments tested, Mel-Ca most effective enhancing biomass, viability Salt+Cd These findings underscore synergistic role optimizing pretreatment for mitigation seeds also address precaution possible negative impact effects.
