Abstract
Background
Health
providers
are
under
unprecedented
pressures
to
perform
in
the
COVID-19
health
crisis
and
risks.
We
initiated
a
large
mixed-method
survey
of
professionals
five
metropolitan
areas
Brazil
document
risks
needs
professionals.
To
initiate
study,
we
conducted
formative
research.
Methods

open-ended
semi-structured
interviews
online
convenience
sample
physicians,
nurses,
nurse
technicians,
physiotherapists

data

informed
by
Rapid
Ethnographic
Analysis
(REA).
Results
Responses
organized
into
three
themes
that
emerged
interviews:
lack
preparation
–
both
locally
nationally—for
pandemic
its
effects
on
staffing
training;
overlap
personal,
family,
professional
risk
consequences;
inadequately
addressed
anxiety
suffering
among
staff.
Conclusions
Our
respondents
unprepared
for
epidemic,
especially
institutional
sequelae
psychological
cost.
These
consequences
exacerbated
leadership
sweeping
changes
undercutting
Brazilian
system
noted
almost
all
participants.

This
study
aimed
to
assess
psychosocial
risk
factors
and
Minor
Mental
Disorders
(MMD),
as
well

possible
effects
of
pandemic
on

healthcare
workers
working
in
two
hospitals
city
Campinas,
SP
(Brazil).This
