Environmental conditions are the basis of plant reproduction and critical factors controlling seed dormancy germination. Global climate change is currently affecting environmental changing plants from seeds. Disturbances in germination will cause disturbances diversity communities. Models developed for scenarios show that some species face a significant decrease suitable habitat area. Dormancy an adaptive mechanism affects probability survival species. Pre-harvest sprouting (PHS), which reduces grain yield and quality, is controlled by seed dormancy genes. Because few dormancy-related genes have been cloned, the genetic basis of in rice (Oryza sativa L.) remains unclear. Here, we performed a genome-wide association study linkage mapping to dissect rice. Our findings suggest that Seed Dormancy4 (Sdr4), central modulator dormancy, integrates abscisic acid gibberellic signaling pathways at transcriptional level. Haplotype analysis revealed three Sdr4 alleles cultivars already existed ancestral Oryza rufipogon accessions. Furthermore, like semi-dwarf 1 (SD1) Rc loci, underwent selection during domestication improvement Asian cultivated The distribution frequency Sdr4-n allele different locations Asia negatively associated with local annual temperature precipitation. Finally, developed functional molecular markers for Sdr4, SD1, use breeding. results provide clues about Sdr4-regulated dormancy. Moreover, these guidance utilizing favorable synergistically boost PHS resistance, yield, quality modern varieties.

The revegetation of steep slopes after mining and infrastructure projects is not an easy task. To enhance the effectiveness projects, present study aimed to review (i) specific challenges slope revegetation, (ii) ecological succession patterns in similar environments, (iii) soil conditioning strategies vegetation cover, (iv) importance microorganisms (v) functional plant traits necessary establish on slopes. In general, are characterized by high bulk densities, potentially toxic elements, low water nutrient availability. Additionally, temperature elevated radiation constrain cover establishment. Lessons from natural habitats show that a long-term process. Planting strategies, including hydroseeding geotextiles, may implementation cover. Different groups adaptations for establishment mixtures species containing different can promote diverse resilient communities. Promising be retrieved local rupestrian ecosystems, as these floras adapted shallow, oligotrophic soils. Further research combining methods with individual planting and/or seeding carefully selected rehabilitation, contributing stability, erosion reduction, carbon fixation long term.

Abstract: This study evaluates the effects of hydration and dehydration cycles (HD cycles) on seed germination four Caatinga tree species (Anadenanthera colubrina var. cebil, Enterolobium contortisiliquum, Pityrocarpa moniliformis Pterogyne nitens) subjected to different temperatures determine thermal upper lower limits germination. For this, seeds were 0, 1, 2 3 HD set germinate at 5, 10, 15, 25, 35, 40 45 °C. Germinability t50 calculated differences these parameters compared by two-way ANOVA. In addition, rate (GR = 1/t50), as well ceiling (Tc), optimum (To) base (Tb) estimate below or above which fail germinate. We observed that more cycles, better responds, especially extreme temperatures. Seeds all studied showed To between 25 35 °C, Tb < 10 Tc > The slope regression curves for submitting expands its tolerance range, revealing this pre-treatment can be efficient it increases their stress.
