Objectives:
Hearing
difficulty

prevalent
in
older

increase

global
aging,
particularly
among
men.

there

this
gender
disparity
might
vary

Methods:
Using
2018
data
(
n
=
29,480)
from
the
Health
Retirement
Study
(HRS)
international
family
of
studies,
we
investigate
disparities
hearing
respondents
ages
55–89
United
States
12,566),
Mexico
10,762),
Korea
6152)
with
country-specific
ordinal
logistic
regression
models
that
progressively
adjust
for
demographic,
social,
health
indicators.
Results:
In
States,
men’s
disadvantage
was
consistently
observed.
Mexico,
explained
interactive
effect
age
group
but
resurfaced
after
adjusting
comorbidities.
Korea,
no
difference
difficulty.
Discussion:
Our
results
highlight
heterogeneity
a
diverse
aging
countries.
