Purpose The purpose of this study is to investigate the stress and deformation analysis rotating discs composed functionally graded materials variable geometry. In addition this, obtained radial stress, tangential displacement values can be modeled by means support vector regression (SVR). Design/methodology/approach Radial material index geometry were finite element method. with SVR. Findings case free-free discs, it was observed that stresses decreased an increase in index, whereas on inner surface significantly increased outer surface. As decreases, both surfaces decrease. most successful modeling for displacement, respectively, although performed SVR yielded results each them. Originality/value represents a research gap aims address.

Abstract The conditions for a feasible Cyber‐Physical System (CPS) in welding environment are explored the manufacturing technology components while also focusing on machine learning tools. Increasing efficiency means making digitalisation all technologies, including welding, given today's challenges. Early versions of management, such as Computer Integrated Manufacturing, already leading way, and one latest milestones these developments is CPS. It can be shown that digital migration specific sub‐domains (e.g. visual inspection weld seam during quality assurance) significantly more challenging unimaginable without artificial intelligence applications. However, it true full integration needed to achieve autonomous has yet fully achieved, although there strong demand industry CPS work. In some areas, switchover been prepared. interconnection subsystems requires modern information systems or, case existing ones, their upgrading appropriate level. This research area set addressed comprehensively by initiating several projects. initial phase, aim develop an architecture integrates various Information Technology this work, under studied, relevant explored, transition from traditional CPS‐based examined examples planned further studies listed.
