Introduction: Depression is one of the most common non-motor symptom Parkinson's disease (PD), with an increasing prevalence in recent years. It causes significant psychological consequences that affect course, overall quality life, and functioning. The objective this study was to determine depression outpatients evaluated neurology clinic at tertiary hospital Mogadishu, Somalia. Methods: A cross-sectional conducted among 50 PD patients without dementia Mogadishu Somalia Türkiye Training Research Hospital between February November 2022. All eligible participants were interviewed by a team doctors using structured questionnaire consisted sociodemographics clinical characteristics, Beck Inventory-II (BDI-II) for assessment, Modified Hoehn Yahr Scale staging. Abstract Introduction The present study aimed to explore the suitability of vocabulary knowledge (VOC) test as an accurate and reliable proxy cognitive reserve (CR) by evaluating its psychometric properties discrimination accuracy compared with other CR measures in multiple sclerosis (MS). Methods Sixty-eight consecutive people (pwMS), followed at our MS outpatient clinic, completed a clinical evaluation neuropsychological assessment including: VOC, Brief Repeatable Battery Neuropsychological Tests (BRB-N), Cognitive Reserve Index Questionnaire (CRIq), Beck Depression Inventory-II, State-Trait Anxiety Inventory. Reliability, convergent divergent validity, VOC were assessed using educational level reference standard. possible effects sociodemographic factors on their role predicting global status also explored. Results demonstrated good internal consistency (Cronbach’s α = 0.894) adequate construct validity. It showed acceptable between pwMS high low CR, comparable CRIq score. Education strongly affected scores, which turn independent features. emerged predictor together MS-related disability. Conclusion We validity measure pwMS. Thus, may be estimated fixed objective measures, brain pathology Early estimation help clinicians identify higher risk decline plan strict monitoring interventions.

Background: Mental health issues are increasingly prominent worldwide, posing significant threats to patients and deeply affecting their families social relationships. Traditional diagnostic methods subjective delayed, indicating the need for an objective effective early diagnosis method. Methods: To this end, paper proposes a lightweight detection method multi-mental disorders with fewer data sources, aiming improve procedures enable patient detection. First, proposed takes Electroencephalography (EEG) signals as acquires brain rhythms through Discrete Wavelet Decomposition (DWT), extracts approximate entropy, fuzzy permutation sample entropy establish entropy-based matrix. Then, six kinds of conventional machine learning classifiers, including Support Vector Machine (SVM), k-Nearest Neighbors (kNN), Naive Bayes (NB), Generalized Additive Model (GAM), Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA), Decision Tree (DT), adopted matrix achieve task. Their performances assessed by accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, F1-score. Concerning these experiments, three public datasets schizophrenia, epilepsy, depression utilized validation. Results: The analysis results from identifies representative single-channel (schizophrenia: O1, epilepsy: F3, depression: O2), satisfying classification accuracies (88.10%, 75.47%, 89.92%, respectively) minimal input. Conclusions: Such impressive when considering sources concern, which also improves interpretability features in EEG, providing reliable approach advancing insights into underlying mechanisms pathological states.

Insomnia, often associated with anxiety and depression, is a prevalent sleep disorder. Biofeedback (BFB) treatment can help patients gain voluntary control over physiological events such as by utilizing electroencephalography (EEG) electromyography (EMG) power. Previous studies have rarely predicted biofeedback efficacy measuring the changes in relative EEG power; therefore, we investigated clinical of for insomnia its potential neural mechanisms. We administered to 82 insomnia, whom 68 completed 10 sessions 14 20 sessions. The average age participants was 49.38 ± 12.78 years, 26 men 56 women. Each session consisted 5 min EMG 30 feedback, 2 data recorded before after session. Sessions were conducted every other day, four scale measures taken first, fifth, tenth twentieth After treatment, scores on Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) significantly reduced compared those (-5.5 1.43,t = -3.85, p 0.006), Beck Depression Inventory (BDI-II) (-7.15 2.43, t -2.94, 0.012) State-Trait Anxiety (STAI) (STAI-S: -12.36 3.40, -3.63, 0.003; STAI-T: -9.86 2.38, -4.41, 0.001) lower than treatment.
