Background: The complexity and challenges in managing patients with chronic wounds, combined high morbidity rates, make this condition a significant public health issue. polymicrobial presence of microorganisms, particularly fungi, these wounds poses major challenge for understanding the infectious process defining therapeutic approaches. Aims: This study investigated, over course one year, fungi 30 clinical samples collected from 10 caused by venous ulcers characterized susceptibility profile to antifungal agents amphotericin B fluconazole using microdilution method following EUCAST protocol. Results: We observed that 30% had positive fungal cultures, Candida tropicalis (67%) being most frequently isolated species, followed guilliermondii (33%). highest minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) values were (4 mg/L), while (0.5 MIC did not differ significantly between species. Conclusion: Our findings indicate can be present ulcer may impair healing process. demonstrated persistent yeasts ulcers, suggesting they negatively impact Performing microbiological laboratory tests monitoring profiles are important implementing appropriate strategies aiding management patients.
