Abstract The pursuit of a sustainable environment is common goal for many nations; however, achieving this has become increasingly difficult due to country‐specific risks, often referred as country risk. Despite its importance, the relationship between risk and environmental outcomes still in early stages exploration. This study aims bridge gap by examining influence on India's ecological footprint within an asymmetric empirical framework, while accounting economic growth coal energy consumption. Utilizing nonlinear autoregressive distributed lag (NARDL) estimator, analysis covers data from 1984 2018. findings reveal that positive changes financial contribute improvement significantly reducing footprint, whereas negative these risks lead increase footprint. Additionally, political risk, growth, usage exacerbate reductions use benefits. Based outcomes, policymakers are encouraged establish clear benchmark reduce fostering manner. Governments should also prioritize strong support green technology investments ensure stability across political, economic, sectors promote long‐term sustainability.

Egypt, as a nation, is committed to achieving ecological sustainability, which helps protect the environment for future generations, thereby ensuring balance between energy production, environmental health, and economic development. With regard this vision, research utilized autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) estimator probe how hydroelectricity, digitalization, natural gas affect degradation within Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) in Egypt. This study further used two distinct proxies, namely, CO2 emissions footprint. The result of ARDL indicates that there an inverted U-shaped association growth while urbanization does not sustainability. Moreover, negatively impact sustainability Furthermore, frequency domain causality approach showed two-way pathway its regressors. Based on outcome, policymakers should prioritize decoupling from by investing green infrastructure, sustainable industries, circular economy models.
