Algeria’s resource-dependent economy faces significant challenges in balancing hydrocarbon reliance with environmental sustainability, yet existing research largely overlooks the comprehensive load capacity factor (LCF) metric favor of traditional emissions analyses. This study examines relationships between LCF and key economic–environmental factors Algeria from 1980 to 2023, including total natural resource rents, energy transition, technological innovation, GDP, primary consumption, urbanization. Using ARDL DARDL econometric approaches complemented by a kernel-based regularized least squares analysis, captures both linear nonlinear while accounting for asymmetric dynamics short- long-term perspectives. The findings reveal that urbanization significantly impair LCF, consumption shows minimal positive impact. transition initiatives demonstrate mixed effects, highlighting complexities green implementation economies. These results suggest sustainable development requires targeted policies focusing on management efficiency, environmentally conscious urban planning, technology adoption, providing valuable insights other resource-rich nations pursuing similar sustainability transitions.

Achieving environmental sustainability and economic growth demands higher carbon productivity. While much literature discusses the impact of renewable energy scale penetration on productivity, specific effects internal structure sources are not well understood. This study explores influence productivity in 35 selected OECD countries. The main results as follows: (1) gradual diversification mix has a U-shaped relationship with Almost half countries have passed turning point. "U-shape" relation exists across all quantiles little variation inflection points. (2) impacts through non-linear structural effects, linear technology effects. (3) growing differentiation among negative this adverse effect is more significant levels. These findings provide valuable insights for to optimize promoting They emphasize importance considering formulating development policies. Specifically, due between at different levels can adopt distinct strategies.

This study addresses the abnormal emission of pressure-relieved methane under high-intensity mining conditions by integrating geostatistical inversion, FLAC3D-COMSOL coupled numerical simulations, and stable carbon–hydrogen isotopic tracing. Focusing on 12023 working face at Wangxingzhuang Coal Mine, we established a heterogeneous reservoir model to analyze mechanical responses surrounding rock, permeability evolution, gas migration patterns intensities 2–6 m/d. Key findings include following: (1) When advanced 180 m, vertical stress in concentration zones increased significantly with intensity, peaking 12.89% higher 6 m/d compared 2 (2) Higher exacerbated plastic failure floor strata, maximum depth 47.9 m m/d, enhancing 223 times original coal seam. (3) Isotopic fingerprinting multi-method validation identified adjacent seams as dominant source, contributing 77.88% total emissions. (4) Implementing targeted long directional drainage boreholes strata achieved pressure-relief extraction efficiencies 34.80–40.95%, reducing ventilation air ≥61.79% maintaining return airflow below 0.45%. research provides theoretical technical foundations for adaptive control rapidly advancing faces through stress–permeability coupling optimization, enabling efficient interception resource utilization methane. The outcomes support safe, sustainable practices advance China’s Carbon Peak Neutrality goals.

Published: March 5, 2025

The Emerging Seven (E7) nations face challenges in balancing economic growth and sustainability amid rapid industrialization. This study examines the roles of (EG), resource exploitation (RE), corporate management strategies (CMS), sustainable innovations (SI), industrialization (IND), human empowerment (HE) shaping energy efficiency (EE) development (SD) from 1996 to 2022. Using method moments quantile regression (MMQR), this captures heterogeneous effects across different performance levels. Robustness checks with augmented mean group (AMG), common correlated (CCEMG), fixed (FE) models confirmed result stability, while Granger causality analysis revealed directional relationships. Findings indicated that RE CMS enhance EE SD, whereas IND hinders environmental conservation. EG improves at higher quantiles but negatively impacts SD resource-dependent economies. SI supports may create ecological constraints, requiring balanced policies. HE significantly boosts developed regions though its influence on varies. These results align Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) governance theories, emphasizing need for tailored Strategic investment into green technologies, regulatory reforms, capital are essential integrating E7 nations.

Abstract Addressing climate change as the global challenge necessitates formulating stringent environmental and fiscal policies to achieve sustainable economic development. This paper applied FMOLS method assess how policy stringency influence degradation based on panel data in G7 E7 countries during 2000 2020. Additionally, a threshold model was employed analyze of geopolitical risk effectiveness policy. The results demonstrate heterogeneity impact different outcomes. Stricter regulations exhibit lasting positive quality within countries, effectively reducing ecological footprint. Conversely, correspondingly increases Tax revenue government expenditure both have significant negative effects with tax proving more effective. In plays stronger role inhibiting than revenue. Moreover, risks enhance mitigation ability footprint while exacerbating damage effect countries. Based these findings, recommendations are proposed.
