Abstract Plant Growth-Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) are beneficial bacteria that colonize plant roots and enhance growth through various mechanisms. This study assessed the role of PGPR in sustainable agriculture. Bacterial isolates were collected from districts Kerala, followed by isolation screening. Out 90 strains, ten selected for comprehensive in vitro characterization, including morphological, biochemical molecular identification. LC-MS-TOF analysis identified 37 anti-phytopathogenic compounds positive mode 11 negative mode, confirming their strong biocontrol potential. These findings highlight potential to disease resistance, supporting eco-friendly agricultural practices.

In tropical and subtropical regions, date palm is a highly significant fruit tree, known for its more than 3,000 different varieties found around the world. However, in Egypt, palms are susceptible to infection by root rot disease (RRD) caused various harmful soil borne fungi. This leads damage both trees their offshoots. The most fungi Egypt included: Fusarium oxysporum, which causes deterioration of roots, as well F. moniliforme, solani, Thielaviopsis paradoxa, Botryodiplodia theobromae Rhizoctonia solani. A survey collection samples was carried out five districts (Kharga, Baris, Balat, Dakhla Frafra) within New Valley Governorate, were out. Pathogenicity tests severity confirmed presence 15 fungal species belonging six genera, identified Acrocalymma vagum, Curvularia australiensis, C. lunata, spicifera, Exserohilum rostratum, Marasmius palmivorus Talaromyces pinophilus. Through molecular identification using internal transcribed spacers (ITS), it has been determined that these eight new pathogenic isolates, not previously belong species: A. E. M. palmivorus, T. finding represents first documented association with RRD Egypt.
