Abstract The concept of “state fishes India” highlights the importance and significance prioritized fish species distributed across various states within country. This review article systematically documents current status state from perspectives, identifies prevailing knowledge gaps, also issues strategic plans essential for conservation sustainable utilization these valuable genetic resources. A total 8357 publications were checked consolidated information on species, appropriate items selected under eight categories: biology, physiology nutrition, aquaculture, habitat environmental parameters, genetics biotechnology, harvest postharvest, health management, others. synthesized was used to present research development species. gaps that are be addressed depicted perspectives fisheries management aquaculture. Based findings, targeted programmes proposed discussed in situ ex measures. Further, departmental processes involved declaration, stakeholder involvement, namely, local communities policymakers, fostering effective measures, planning resources indicated.

Our previous genome analysis of Sinonovacula constricta revealed an expansion the monocarboxylate transporter gene family, which is crucial for metabolic dynamic balance and intracellular pH regulation. To further elucidate role these expanded MCT genes in response to variable environmental conditions, we conducted a comprehensive genome-wide identification, phylogenetic evolution expression analysis. In this study, 16 sodium-coupled (designated as ScSMCTs) 54 proton-coupled ScMCTs) were identified from S. genome. The results number comparison indicated significant ScSMCTs ScMCTs mollusks compared vertebrates, likely due tandem repeats dispersed duplications constricta. syntenic demonstrated that razor-clam had highest homologous pairs with Meretrix meretrix. tree showed SMCT proteins distinctly clustered two large branches. Moreover, positive selection three sites amino acid sequences sites. Multi-transcriptome analyses temporal patterns displayed play distinct roles salinity ammonia stressors. It worth noting majority involved abiotic stresses belong MCTs. Overall, our findings important under stress, provided valuable information family mollusks, well theoretical basis study mechanism function

The river shad, hilsa (Tenualosa ilisha), is an anadromous fish that migrates from marine to freshwater for spawning. This transition/migration poses severe osmotic stress needs successfully minimize. present study was conducted evaluate the cellular (ultrastructure of gill and kidney), physiological (hemocyte counts, blood, water osmolality), biochemical (free amino acids, free fatty blood glucose, cortisol levels) parameters collected four different environmental salinity levels (0‰, 10‰, 20‰, 30‰ levels; using 10 samples each salinity). Results indicate increased amount fatty/mucus cells in lower number glomerular capsules kidney were observed at low (0‰ 10‰) salinities compared high (20‰ 30‰) salinities. The study of gene diversity in interspecies contributes to our understanding the environmental adaptation, evolutionary history, origin, and stability biodiversity. Crabs are main component macrobenthos community; therefore, how crabs adapt different environments can be a guide understand maintain community diversity. Previous studies on adaptation have focused differences morphology, organ structure, function, but there is lack research that explores this topic from perspective benthonic crabs. In study, leucosiid crab was selected for transcriptome assembly analyzed as superfamily one clades brachyuran Their data were used diversity, phylogeny, divergence time estimations. Subsequently, candidate families depth found eight species live habitats with depths. results indicated number total unigene sequences between 65,617 (Philyra malefactrix) 98,279 (Arcania heptacantha) species. length genes counted 48,006,211 95,471,088 bp. age Leucosioidea over 150 Ma, dating back at least Jurassic geological period. family Leucosiidae would occurred middle Cretaceous (around 100 Ma). After dividing into groups three types, which carried families, it shared solute carrier family, whereas bile acid secretion, organic transporter subunit alpha-like, anion only existed shallow group. This result shown function ion concentration regulation might related crab. Hence, these will future mechanism
