Abstract Innovations in water technology are needed to solve challenges of climate change, resource shortages, emerging contaminants, urbanization, sustainable development and demographic changes. In particular, conventional techniques wastewater treatment limited by the presence poorly biodegradable organic matter. Alternatively, recent Fenton, Fenton-like hybrid processes appear successful for cleaning different types liquid wastewaters. Here, we review application metallic catalyst-H 2 O systems heterogeneous Fenton process. Each system has unique redox properties due metal oxidation state. Solution pH is a major influencing factor. Catalysts made iron cerium form stable complexes with products H , thus resulting reduced activities. Copper forms transitory products, but copper catalytic activity restored during reaction. Silver manganese do not complexes. The catalyst performance degradation mineralization decreases order: manganese, copper, iron, silver, cerium, yet easiness practical cerium.

Environmental contaminants have emerged significantly due to the enormous consumption of medications, personal-care products, antibiotics, and hormones for cosmetic health reasons. Emerging pollutants (EPs), often alluded as contaminants, become a massive concern entire populace their immense critical environmental human hazards. EPs broad range effects. emanate from either or animal origins, with ability permeate streams instantaneously gradually through soils. Consequently, potable water sources will get tainted, quality degrade, conditions emerge. For more than decade, research has been conducted on various pollutants, but this developing class mainly comprises those fertilizer, pharmaceutical, personal care industries. Even in lower quantities, majority evolving may be harmful people marine life. These chemicals lack defined limits because treatment facilities require sources. The prevalence deterioration aquatic environments, particularly surface groundwater, is severe problem. technologies utilize methodologies, including physicochemical, biological, modern oxidation processes, regardless benefits limitations.

Abstract Traditional tumor treatments, including chemotherapy, radiotherapy, photodynamic therapy, and photothermal are developed used to treat different types of cancer. Recently, chemodynamic therapy (CDT) has been emerged as a novel cancer therapeutic strategy. CDT utilizes Fenton or Fenton‐like reaction generate highly cytotoxic hydroxyl radicals (•OH) from endogenous hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O ) kill cells, which displays promising potentials for treatment. However, the low catalytic efficiency off‐target side effects limit biomedical application CDT. In this regard, various strategies implemented potentiate against tumor, retrofitting microenvironment (e.g., increasing H level, decreasing reductive substances, reducing pH), enhancing nanocatalysts, other strategies. This review aims summarize development these recent progresses nanocatalyst‐mediated antitumor application. The future trend challenges also discussed.
