microalgal–bacterial
consortium
(microalgae–bacteria

MBBF)

been

recognized
in
wastewater
treatment
for
its
superior
pollutant
removal
efficiency,
resilience
to
toxic
substances,

improved
harvesting
performance.
This
review
initially
discusses
the
advantages
of
MBBFs
compared
activated
sludge
suspended
consortia.
These
stem
from
coexistence
pathways

microalgae
MBBFs,

synergistic
interactions

capabilities.
