Professional identity is a crucial psychological construct that shapes pre-service physical education (PE) teachers' academic engagement, persistence, and future career commitment. However, limited research has examined the mechanisms foster development of professional in this population. This study explores how self-efficacy contributes to formation among PE teachers, with particular focus on mediating roles meaning life self-esteem. A cross-sectional was conducted 465 teachers. Data self-efficacy, life, self-esteem, were collected through validated self-report questionnaires. Structural equation modeling used analyze direct indirect effects test The findings revealed positively associated identity. Additionally, self-esteem found mediate relationship. Specifically, linked higher levels both independent chain mediation effect involving variables.
