Abstract BACKGROUND Maize is a critically important world staple food, yet its productivity exposed to notorious invasive pest of the fall armyworm ( Spodoptera frugiperda ). To discern transgenerational effects and potential control efficacy, we evaluated chlorantraniliprole, azadirachtin, uniconazole on S. development, reproduction, metabolome, larval transcriptome. RESULTS Exposure has impacted pupation, fecundity, longevity. Biochemical analysis specific enzyme activities [acetylcholinesterase (AChE), carboxylesterase (CarE), glutathione‐S‐transferase (GST), cytochrome P450 (P450)] showed very high magnitude activity changes. Chlorantraniliprole azadirachtin had prominent influences expression common genes involved in DNA replication, oxidative phosphorylation, digestion, immune reaction, endocrine system, as shown by RNA sequencing. In contrast, affected gene regulation only marginally. Besides, pesticides significantly maize plants altering their metabolome transcriptome profiles dramatically enhanced plant mortality, especially after chlorantraniliprole treatments. sequencing treated with revealed significant changes, providing insights into plant's adaptive responses alterations insect–plant interactions. CONCLUSION These results indicate complex, itself plants. findings underline integrating these compounds bio‐intensive management strategies against , implications for enhancing protection. © 2025 Society Chemical Industry.

Cyantraniliprole, a second-generation anthranilic diamide, is widely used to manage lepidopteran pests, including the invasive tomato pinworm Tuta absoluta (Meyrick). However, cyantraniliprole’s resistance mechanisms and associated fitness costs in T. remain underexplored. Here, we investigated of cyantraniliprole-resistant strain (CyanRS) via nanocarrier-mediated RNA interference (RNAi). Results showed that egg incubation period developmental durations larval pupal stages were significantly prolonged CyanRS population compared susceptible (SS). Further, adult emergence, longevities male female, fecundity, hatching rate reduced individuals. The mRNA expression levels cytochrome b5 reductase ( CYB5R ) P450 CYP9E2 analyzed using RT-qPCR explore their potential involvement cyantraniliprole . Phylogenetic motif analysis indicated evolutionary functional conservation with other insect species, especially Lepidopterans. Notably, nanocarrier-encapsulated dsRNA targeting genes levels. activity was substantially decreased after knockdown CYP92 genes. This increased susceptibility resistant cyantraniliprole, leading higher mortality than controls. These findings show might play key role evolution current study provides in-depth insights understand underlying this herbivore.

Tuta absoluta (Meyrick) is a devastating invasive pest worldwide. The abamectin and chlorantraniliprole complex have become an alternative option for chemical control because they can enhance insecticidal activity delay increased drug resistance. Notably, pests are inevitably resistant to various types of insecticides, compound insecticides no exception. To identify potential genes involved in the detoxification T. absoluta, PacBio SMRT-seq transcriptome sequencing Illumina RNA-seq analysis complex-treated were performed. We obtained 80,492 non-redundant transcripts, 62,762 (77.97%) transcripts that successfully annotated, 15,524 differentially expressed (DETs). GO annotation results showed most these DETs biological processes life-sustaining activities, such as cellular, metabolic, single-organism processes. KEGG pathway enrichment pathways related glutathione metabolism, fatty acid amino synthesis, metabolism response absoluta. Among these, 21 P450s (11 upregulated 10 downregulated). qRT-PCR eight P450 after treatment consistent with RNA-Seq data. Our findings provide new full-length transcriptional data information further studies on detoxification-related

Carya illinoinensis (Wangenh.) K. Koch (Pecan), a deciduous tree native to North America, faces significant challenges from pests. This study investigated the insecticidal efficacy and food safety of using broad-spectrum insecticide emamectin benzoate via trunk injection for potential pecan pest management. Injections were given at dosages 0.4, 0.8, 1.6, 2.4 mL/cm diameter breast height (DBH), leaf samples collected 10, 30, 60, 100 days post-injection, while fruit obtained during swelling, ripening, harvest stages. We established an analytical method determination quantification content in pecans ultra-performance liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS). Leaf was significantly higher compared nuts (p ≤ 0.036). The leaves following four dosage treatments decreased over time 0.1943/0.2799 mg/kg (upper crown/lower crown), 0.1910/0.3957 mg/kg, 0.3663/0.6235 1.3988/1.9123 respectively. pesticide residues 0.4 0.8 treatment groups kernels 0.0016 0.0039 respectively, below latest European Union Regulation (0.005 mg/kg).
