The application of artificial intelligence in everyday life is becoming all-pervasive and unavoidable. Within that vast field, a special place belongs to biomimetic/bio-inspired algorithms for multiparameter optimization, which find their use large number areas. This paper reviews a majority of the nature-inspired algorithms, including heuristic and meta-heuristic bio-inspired non-bio-inspired focusing on their source inspiration studying potential applications in drones. About 350 algorithms have been studied, comprehensive classification is introduced based sources inspiration, bio-based, ecosystem-based, social-based, physics-based, chemistry-based, mathematics-based, music-based, sport-based, hybrid algorithms. The Gannet Optimization Algorithm (GOA) has good performance, but there is still room for improvement in memory consumption and convergence. In this paper, an improved proposed to solve five engineering optimization problems. compact strategy enables the GOA save a large amount of memory, parallel communication allows algorithm avoid falling into local optimal solutions. We improve through combination strategy, we name Parallel Compact (PCGOA). performance study PCGOA on CEC2013 benchmark demonstrates advantages our new method various aspects. Finally, results solving problems show that can find global solution more accurately.
