In
recent
years,
with
rapid
development
aquaculture
industry,
application
astaxanthin
in
has
garnered
increasing
attention.
Studies
have
demonstrated
that
significantly
enhances
antioxidant
capacity
animals,
reduces
oxidative
damage,
regulates
expression
immune-related
genes,
thereby
improving
immunity
disease
resistance.
Moreover,
promotes
performance,
particularly
high-value
species,
where
it
also
serves
as
natural
pigment
to
increase
market
competitiveness.
However,
low
bioavailability

major
constraints

To

Abstract
Background
Identifying
alternative
sustainable
feed
sources
with
high
nutritional
values
is
crucial
for
the
future
of
environmentally
and
socially
responsible
aquaculture.
In
this
regard,
microalgae
have
been
proven
to
positive
effects
on
fish
health,
which
overwhelmed
our
interest
in
study.
Methods
Pediastrum
boryanum
(
P.
)
was
incorporated
into
Nile
tilapia
at
concentrations
0,
0.75,
1.5
mg/kg,
as
control,
PbExt
0.75
,
groups
assess
its
growth
biochemical
indices,
oxidant/antioxidant
activities,
immune
stress-related
gene
expression,
intestinal
morphology.
Results
After
8
weeks,
fed
supplemented
exhibited
significant
increases
final
weight,
length,
condition
factor,
body
weight
gain,
specific
rate,
while
spleen-somatic
index
(SSI)
hepatosomatic
(HSI)
showed
no
differences
compared
control
group.
Dietary
supplementation
also
enhanced
IgM
levels
lysozyme
activity,
along
marked
effect
markers
liver
function
enzymes
(alanine
aminotransferase/ALT
aspartate
aminotransferase/AST)
or
protein
status
(total
albumin).
Furthermore,
addition
increased
activity
superoxide
dismutase
(SOD),
catalase
(CAT),
reduced
glutathione
(GSH)
enzymes,
highlighting
antioxidant
potential,
whereas
malondialdehyde
(MDA)
among
groups.
Gene
expression
analysis
revealed
that
