While high dropout rates hinder the success of online education, little is known about patterns beyond adult particularly regarding time-related variables. This study aims to address this gap by analyzing data from 219 extracurricular English courses, involving approximately 300,000 Chinese elementary students. We employed a multilevel modeling technique and found that rate increased throughout semester peaked at chapter transitions. Furthermore, we also varied with grades semesters. Younger students those in second were more likely drop out education exhibited higher during These findings highlight temporal dynamics China variations across grade semester, providing valuable implications for educators designing effective learning environments.
