Abstract To date, humans are looking for suitable energy sources to meet the global demand fuels. Among many candidates, biohydrogen (bio‐H 2 ), a future fuel perspective, is expected grow critically and receive considerable attention replace fossil This review focuses on production via post‐method photocatalytic reforming of ideal feedstock abundant lignocellulosic biomass. Renewable biomass precursors used without net greenhouse gas emissions. idea holds great promise as sustainable environmentally friendly solution. In particular, saccharide substrates, including monosaccharides, disaccharides, polysaccharides, etc., have been sacrificial reagents in over past few decades. various cellulose has attracted worldwide since it most polymeric resource that can be obtained from sources. Following, photo‐reforming renewable biomass, which aligns with requirements development, successfully proposed. The overall catalytic efficiency will discussed regarding evolution rate (mmol g cat −1 h ). Finally, concluded challenges potential opportunities enhance also given.
