Genotoxicity and mutagenicity of monoterpene carvone along with the related alcohols – carvacrol thymol have been studied using Drosophila melanogaster as model system. The viability, pre-imaginal stage duration, level dominant lethal mutations, unequal crossover in Bar mutant D. influence monocyclic terpenoids on multiplication nuclear genome salivary gland cells were investigated. compounds tested after oral administration (0.02% 1,2-propylene glycol) degree chromosome polyteny larvae. Among examined, exhibited most significant impact imago lifespan, frequency when added to culture medium. Oral increases average highest value for 1178 C compared control (776 C). conceivable mechanism action associated juvenile hormone activity is debated.
