Abstract Iris aucheri, which belongs to the Iridaceae family, is one of most important wild ornamental plants distributed widely throughout Iraqi Kurdistan Region (IKR) (north Iraq). The genetic diversity this plant species partly known. Thus, ten ISSR markers and CDDP were utilized evaluate perform population analysis forty-eightwild aucheri genotypes from five locations in IKR. results revealed 108 134 polymorphic bands for markers, respectively. mean values number observed alleles (Na), effective (Ne), Shannon's information index (I), expected heterozygosity or gene (He), unbiased (uHe), content (PIC) 1.71, 1.43, 0.39, 0.26, 0.27, 0.32 primers 1.53, 1.37, 0.34, 0.22, 0.23, 0.26 primers, All classified into two main clades populations on basis UPGMA dendrogram structure derived marker data. variation within was 89.59%, 90.64%, 90.31% ISSR, CDDP, combinations both Among all data, 2 presented highest majority indices. Our efficacy determining variability among iris genotypes. This first attempt use these elucidate I. plants. These findings can be used germplasm conservation future breeding plans.
