Abstract Beta diversity has been widely used in studies to understand the spatial distribution patterns of species and assess effects anthropic impacts on aquatic environments. Abstract Freshwater ecosystems, under the influence of human activities, are subject to multiple environmental stressors that lead biodiversity loss, and habitat modification. In recent years, different various organisms have been used as bioindicators detect changes by their ability perceive in community attributes. A good example is semiaquatic bedbugs Gerromorpha infra order act predators sensitive subtle conditions. Our research aimed investigate responses communities, genera species along an gradient 45 Amazon streams. The was assessed utilizing Habitat Integrity Index (HII) across sampled streams, yielding a collection 2.212 specimens representing three families, seven genera, 36 species. integrity, represented HII, showed positive relationship with both richness Gerromorpha, underscoring respond change analyzed habitats. Brachymetra lata from Gerridae family Rhagovelia jubata, elegans Veliidae were most taxa HII. Streams characterized heightened anthropogenic disturbance reduced riparian vegetation associated pattern marked increased abundance frequency generalist genus within family.
