Students who use argumentation skills in their learning activities can generate a deeper understanding of former concepts, helping to expand knowledge and possibly dispel misunderstandings. The present study analyzed the structural and content complexity of 76 preservice science teachers' socioscientific argumentation in context a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination. Data were within methodological frame qualitative analysis. Concerning complexity, participants' reached relatively high level (i.e., justifications with elaborated grounds). content, sample referred to science-, ethics-, society-, politics-related arguments almost full range areas); however, on an individual level, participants merely average two areas. Regarding relationship between significant positive correlation was found. Abstract There is a consensus within the science education community that primary scientific literature legitimate and desirable educational resource. Moreover, critical reading of articles widely recognized as key aspect literacy. However, university courses rarely provide students with explicit opportunities to cultivate their skills. ABSTRACT Children's literature is widely recognized for its potential to enhance student development. Despite existing research and publications on the topic, a thorough study integrating children's into language scientific literacy has not been conducted. This systematic review aimed comprehensively explore current innovative strategies effects of improve literacy. Utilizing Systematic Literature Review (SLR) Preferred Reporting Items Reviews Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) methods, this analyzed 54 studies from Scopus database spanning 2010 2024. The Publish or Perish VOSviewer applications supported identification, screening, eligibility, inclusion stages. Scopus-indexed articles totaling 275 were initially identified filtered relevant pieces. findings highlight that science education effectively bridges literacy, enhancing cognitive development comprehension. interdisciplinary teaching model suggests practical educators seeking enrich their instructional by employing diverse literary forms such as informational texts, biographies, comics, dramas, fiction. This study aims to determine teacher candidates' written argumentation quality with the help of various socio-scientific issues in context human reproductive system subject. For this reason, a case was conducted 24 science candidates studying at state university Turkey. Data collected questionnaire involving five open-ended questions. The questions interrogated testing for genetic diseases before marriage, sugar-loading tests during pregnancy, designer babies, surrogacy, and consanguineous marriage. In data-gathering process, participants were asked whether they supported given issue provide arguments each question. analyzed using content analysis framework introduced by Sadler Fowler (2006).
