In this study, the protective effect of morin against lung toxicity induced by ifosfamide (IFO), a widely used drug in cancer treatment, was investigated. Thirty-five male Sprague Dawley rats were divided into five groups: Control, Morin (200 mg/kg), IFO and two different doses (IFO + 100 mg/kg 200 mg/kg). Rats given or for 2 days on second day, 500 administered as single dose. Biochemical molecular methods analyzed oxidative stress, inflammation, autophagy apoptosis markers. According to data obtained, increased malondialdehyde (MDA) levels tissue, while decreasing superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), glutathione peroxidase (GPX) activities (GSH) levels. However, it observed that administration decreased MDA GSH GPx, SOD, CAT activities. inhibited expression B-cell lymphoma-2 (Bcl-2) nuclear factor erythroid 2-related (Nrf-2) /heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) pathway, increasing factor-kappa B (NF-κB), inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS), Bcl-2-associated x protein (Bax), cysteine aspartate specific protease-3 (Caspase-3). NF-κB iNOS inflammation activating Nrf-2/HO-1 pathway prevented Bax Caspase-3 Bcl-2. It also caused decrease Beclin-1 findings, affecting various signaling pathways causing cellular damage, demonstrated qualities damage.
