This paper is a critical commentary on Walter Veit’s book "A philosophy for the science of animal consciousness." My goal to show that although Veit succeeds in presenting compelling account consciousness, he may have unintentionally undermined purpose such science. I argue that, despite author’s claims, his theory not as empirically grounded makes it out be. Paradoxically, some arguments against opponents seem be double-edged. Still, also this necessary cost, an alternative would succumb particular form metatheoretical anthropomorphism. In effect, we end up with surprising conclusion need many sciences different consciousnesses, which seems at odds Darwinian continuity assumption. However, only goes well worth discussing.
