Comprehensive Summary A CuX‐mediated regioselective halogenation reaction of 2‐phenylimidazo[1,2‐ a ]pyridine in the presence oxygen is introduced this paper. This provides an effective method for production C‐3 halogenated ]pyridines with yield up to 96%. plausible mechanism formation title compounds via ]pyridine–CuX complex intermediate proposed. The structure representative established by single crystal XRD method. electronic structure, corroborated Hirshfeld surface analysis and DFT calculations, rationalizes characters relevant absorptions emission as well large Stokes shifts.
