Abstract Interventions focused on adolescents’ identity development have shown promising results, but questions remain as to which adolescents benefit most from them. This preregistered study examined how personality traits (Big Five domains and higher-order meta-traits) moderate responsiveness the Identity Project, a school-based intervention supporting ethnic-racial development. A total of 509 22 classrooms in southwestern regions Sweden participated an control group design ( M age = 16.28; SD 0.80; 66% female; 51% migration background). Results indicate that extraversion, trait linked socialization external reward-seeking, well plasticity, meta-trait adaptability exploration, both enhanced terms exploration. Moderation differences were found between genders, not non-migration backgrounds. With meta-traits being revealed predictors effectiveness, highlights all equally interventions targeting processes. By adapting like Project also reach introverted or less plastic adolescents, it is possible make them more inclusive, thus broadening their impact.
