Depression is prevalent and may be transmitted within the family. However, whether how gender influences interaction of depressive symptoms between parents adolescents remains largely unclear. The current study used a cross-lagged panel network (CLPN) analysis to examine gender-specific transmission in representative Chinese families from China Family Panel Studies. participants included 1469 (48.3% girls) their parents, with assessed by epidemiological studies depression scale 2020 (T1; Mage = 13.80) 2022 (T2; 15.62), respectively. CLPNs (i.e., boy-father, boy-mother, girl-father, girl-mother CLPNs) showed that "loneliness" at T1 repeatedly exhibited higher impacts on other T2 across networks. Furthermore, girls were more likely influence T2, while boys especially "sleep restlessness", susceptible parental T1. These findings provide deeper insights into development mental health policies, future are needed explore mediating mechanisms such transmission.

Smartphone addiction negatively affects physical and mental health. Future time perspective, a key personality social cognitive factor, may not only be protective factor for addictive behaviors but also shaped during the development of addiction. Based on three waves data collected from Chinese college students (N = 622, 46.95% male, Mage 18.16, SD 1.49), this study examined within-person between-person effects associations between future perspective smartphone The results traditional cross-lagged model demonstrated bidirectional negative association random intercept panel indicated reciprocal effect use consistently over while controlling significantly effect. These findings deepen understanding longitudinal relationship
