This research aims to analyze the improvement in photocatalytic properties of ZnO nanoparticles by incorporating Gd. In order understand influence Gd into matrix, activity material is compared at various concentrations. Different doping concentrations ranging from 0 0.075 are incorporated and synthesized ZnO-Gd nanocomposites investigated using structural, morphological, optical analyses XRD, SEM, UV-vis spectroscopy, respectively. The performance determined via degradation organic contaminants under visible light. Regarding latter, results suggest that efficiency increases with increasing levels up an optimal concentration. enhancement Gd-doped explained, along mechanism related availability new pathways for charge carrier recombination. Among all them, catalyst exhibits highest which degrades 89% MB dye after being irradiated UV light 120 min. However, pure only 40% within same testing conditions. closing, this work confirms applicability as photocatalysts cleaning environment wastewater treatment.
