The integration of ecosystem services (ESs) valuation into agricultural policy frameworks is critical for fostering sustainable land management practices. This study leverages the redesigned version bio-economic farm model MODAM (Multi-Objective Decision Support Tool Agro-Ecosystem Management) to estimate shadow prices ESs, enabling derivation demand and supply curves nitrate leaching soil erosion control, respectively. Two hypothetical farms in Brandenburg, Germany—a smaller, arable Märkisch-Oderland a larger, diversified with livestock Oder-Spree—are analyzed explore heterogeneity corresponding cropping patterns. results reveal that larger exhibit greater elasticity response green taxes on use lower costs supplying control compared smaller farms. highlights utility as proxies setting payments (PESs), while emphasizing need differentiated designs address disparities between types. research underscores potential model-based ESs provide robust economic measures design, practices conservation.
