Vaginitis, characterized by pathogenic invasion and a deficiency in beneficial lactobacilli, has recognized lactobacilli supplementation as novel therapeutic strategy. However, due to individual differences vaginal microbiota, identifying universally effective Lactobacillus strains is challenging. Traditional methodologies for probiotic selection, which heavily depend on extensive vitro experiments, are both time-intensive laborious. The aim of this study was pinpoint possible candidates based whole-genome screening. We sequenced the genomes 98 previously isolated strains, annotating their genes involved metabolite biosynthesis, adherence, acid/bile tolerance, antibiotic resistance. A scoring system used assess genomic profiles. highest-scoring underwent further evaluation. Consequently, two crispatus LG55-27 gasseri TM13-16, displayed an outstanding ability produce D-lactate adhere human epithelial cells. They also showed higher antimicrobial activity against Gardnerella vaginalis, Escherichia coli, Candida albicans, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa compared reference strains. Their resilience acid bile environments highlights potential oral supplementation. Oral administration these were tested bacterial vaginosis (BV) rat model at various doses. Results indicated that combined 1 × 106 CFU/day significantly mitigated BV rats. This research offers dosage guideline vaginitis therapy, underscoring efficient screening process probiotics using genome sequencing, testing, vivo experimentation.

Swine have emerged as significant reservoirs of antibiotic-resistant strains and genes. To establish a sound rationale for applying quinolone antibiotics in the swine industry, meta-analysis was performed on resistance rate swine-derived Escherichia coli to China from 2002 2022. We systematically searched through three databases, PubMed, Web Science, CNKI, included 53 eligible studies within specified timeframe. Resistance rates were calculated using random-effects model Freeman–Tukey double-arcsine transformation. The observed follows: 37% levofloxacin (95% CI: 27~47%), 43% ofloxacin 34~51%), 54% enrofloxacin 46~62%), 50% ciprofloxacin 42~58%). Further subgroup analyses illuminated that higher mainland China’s eastern regions than western regions. Additionally, there no decrease over time different periods. From 2022, various exhibited differing degrees generalized quinolones. This poses potential public health risk underscores fact control remains prolonged ongoing challenge.
