Abstract In this study, polymer nanocomposite based on polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP), polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), and silver nitrate (AgNO 3 ) has been prepared through chemical reduction rate casting method for varying concentrations of AgNO . The PVP/PVA blend consisted 0.6 wt% PVP 0.4 PVA. Following that, nanocomposites were by incorporating different (0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 wt%) into the blend. effects AgNO3 structural optical properties investigated using x-ray diffraction (XRD) UV–vis absorption spectroscopy. XRD analysis demonstrated that increasing concentration results in a decrease degree crystallinity from 53.73 to 15.77 containing absorbance spectra examined determine such as coefficient, edge, band gap, tails localized states. revealed increase caused edge alongside an Urbach energy.
